You can join us all year round for photo marathon workshops and pop-up exhibitions. During the exhibition period we will add a comprehensive program of lectures, guided tours and special events for young and old. In addition to the main exhibition, there is a special exhibition of WPFG. The details of the Rand Program will be announced later.
This year we will again organize the World Press Photo exhibition in Groningen. From Friday 17 November to Sunday 10 December, the pictures are shown at the Synagogue of Groningen. WPFG is the only one in the north that offers the World Press Photo exhibition.
World Press Photo 17 is an intriguing photo exhibition featuring the best current press photos from 2016. The exhibition includes portraits, series of documentary and news. World Press Photo makes a selection of the most intriguing, special and high quality images from visual journalism each year. Photographers from all over the world send their best pictures and hope to fall in the category of Nature, Sports, Daily Life, News, People, Contemporary Issues, Long-Term Projects and Spot News. To educate students in the world of press photography, we are developing a new educational program for schools in the north each year. The educational program is based on the exhibition and an annual theme. With the annual theme "Visual Storytelling", WPFG aims to educate young people to critically study photos they see in the media.In addition to guided tours and the reading package, there are also videos on (press) photography online at WPFG Academy and the North Photographers series
